Background

I completed my Bachelor's degree in Psychology followed by a Research Master's in Psychology with a specialization in Brain and Cognition at the University of Amsterdam. Currently, I am a PhD student at the Sleep and Consciousness Lab at the University of Salzburg under supervision of Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Kerstin Hoedlmoser. My PhD project is conducted in collaboration with the Laboratory of Human Movement Sciences at the University of Lyon and is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and the French National Research Agency (ANR).

Research Interests

My research focusses on the effects of sleep and motor imagery on motor memory consolidation in healthy young and older adults. I am especially interested in how sleep physiological parameters measured with EEG contribute to memory formation and cognition across the life span. Furthermore, I am fascinated by non-invasive brain stimulation approaches during sleep that may help to optimize memory functions and, in turn, inform interventions to mitigate memory decline, particularly in clinical and aging populations.
